Design of an Acoustic Enclosure for the CHP Power Generator at Ferdowsi 2 (Zeytoon) Commercial Complex
This project was carried out in the summer of 2016 by Sanat Project Toos Company with the objective of controlling noise pollution generated by the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) generator installed at the Zeytoon Commercial Complex in Mashhad. Noise source data were obtained from the equipment manufacturer, and based on this information, the density, thickness, and material composition of the acoustic panels were determined.
The primary objective of the acoustic design was to reduce the emitted noise levels to meet permissible environmental noise standards. According to regulatory standards, the allowable sound pressure level in residential areas must be below 55 dB(A) during daytime hours and below 45 dB(A) during nighttime hours.
The acoustic panels (sound absorbers) used in the enclosure are illustrated in the figure below.
